Re-imagining the Empire Stores Building in Brooklyn
Brief: Re-imagine the historic Empire Stores building in DUMBO. Currently operating as a retail space, transform it into a boutique hotel while preserving its historic structural integrity. The redesign must maintain the original exterior façade with no alterations or additions to the outside.
Concept: Refined circus inspired hotel, with an animal-free Circus event space, restaurants, and rooftop pool, restaurant and bar.

Utilizing the psychology of wayfinding and spatial memory, each hospitality floor elevator lobby will be color coded for identification. These features create visual cues that reduce confusion for users of all ages in new, complex, and monotonous environments.
